Distinguished Gentleman, Photographer, and Hoptimist.

Hi, I’m Tharon Severson. A hobbyist photographer in the western Twin Cities area of Minnesota, working to create a photographic style of my own.

What does it mean to be a Distinguished Gentleman, Photographer, and Hoptimist?

A Distinguished Gentleman is someone who treats the people around him with respect and works to ensure his deeds match his words. While no one is perfect, this is a worthy goal to strive for in my deeds.

Photography has been my hobby since I was a kid beginning with my grandfather’s Duaflex. I remember getting excited when the mail arrived and seeing that large envelope containing my latest photos. Most of us now shoot digitally, but I still get that feeling whenever I download the day's images to my computer. While I may not do weddings or event photography for hire (maybe soon), there is still that kid in me who enjoys taking photos. In the last few years, I have become more committed to the fun of photography, and I am continuously working to improve my shooting skills, wondering what I can create next.

And lastly, a Hoptimist is a person who believes everything is better with a good IPA.
